Well, not a performance, but a trial run.
So last Saturday, my friend David told me that I should play a few songs in front of people to get used to the atmosphere and what not. I went early and started warming up and played around a half an hour while few people were there. I did pretty well with few mistakes here and there. It was a little harder to play in the club because the sound isn't as clear, there's echo, and some other reasons.
Then in the middle of night I played a couple of songs when the place was packed with people. It was much harder than at the beginning of the night. I couldn't be 100% focused as there were so many people and it was too loud. So my mixes weren't 100% accurate, but luckily my friend was there to do small adjustments so that it wouldn't sound bad.
I was generally nervous while I was playing. This is normal as I'm a slightly introverted person. I'm sure this will go away after a while as I get used to things. I had tons of fun though and I'm looking forward to next weekend.

New Hobby: DJ
I've been hanging out with a lot of people somehow involved in music for years, specially recently with few friends who have a weekly DJ gig. I also started drumming few months ago and been getting better at it.
Few weeks ago I though that maybe I should DJ for fun, so I started looking at what they do and try to learn and ask question whenever I can. Then I started practicing on headphones and also installed some software on my MacBook to practice at home.
Soon I realized I'm getting better, so I needed to get better gear to practice on. I looked around and read some reviews and decided to get a Hercules RMX console, which is highly recommended for beginner DJs.
Here's my current setup.

The console is a 3-in-1 device. It's a midi controller, a mixer, and a 4-channel audio interface (sound card) to allow for dual outputs for live music and headphones. I've been practicing for few hours every day, and I like it so far. I'm pretty sure I can get my skill up to be able to play in a club soon.

Video game hardware in X-Ray
Several websites pointed to a new portfolio on flickr showing popular video game consoles and accessories in x-ray. Very cool stuff. My favorite is the Wii nunchuck shown on the right, very minimal and looks artistic from this angle. The set also includes very old hardware like the Atari 2600 and the NES.
