So I've been playing at the club every Saturday for about an hour through out the night, and I can see myself getting much better. I'm also getting used to the atmosphere so I don't get nervous anymore.
I picked a DJ name for myself as well, Montu. Montu is an ancient Egyptian god of war. I picked an ancient Egyptian name because of my middle eastern background and Montu sounded unique without being one of the popular gods. And it starts with an M so I saw it as a good fit.
My logo is Montu's name in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. After I made the logo, a friend pointed out that the 3 symbols on the left look like a mixer, a sound wave and headphones, which I didn't notice before. So it all seems to be working out pretty well.I created a website montu.ca that will eventually have info, pics, music and other things. The first thing to go up there will probably be my first mixed set which I'm currently working on. Once that's done I'll put it up and spread the word around about the website.
